Robert DeNiro and his wife make a rare public appearance as he launches the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival in New York

They've been married for almost 13 years but it's very rare to see Robert DeNiro and his wife pictured out together.

But there was no way that Grace Hightower was going to miss one of her husband's biggest social calendar events of the year.

The couple were snapped arriving at the New York State Supreme Court last night for a party held by high society magazine Vanity Fair for the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival.

DeNiro, 66, who was dressed in a grey wool suit, was hand in hand with Grace, a former flight attendant, who looked stunning in a strapless black draped dress and minimal jewellery and make-up.

They were joined at the party by model Christy Turlington, 41, and her actor husband Edward Burns, 42, and comedian Jerry Seinfeld, 55, and his wife Jessica, 39.

Also attending were legendary actorand DeNiro's old friend Harvey Keitel, 70, who arrived with his 49-year-old actress wife Daphna Kaster, and actor and comedian Dennis Leary, 52, and his wife Ann.

Other party-goers included Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, 60, American's domestic goddess Martha Stewart, 68, and fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg, 63.

De Niro, who lives in New York City, co-founded the festival with Hollywood producer Jane Rosenthal in 2002 in response to the September 11 attacks the previous year, which resulted in the loss of vitality in the TriBeCa neighbourhood.

Tribeca is a residential area in Lower Manhattan, and its name is an acronym which means Triangle Below Canal Street.

Facebook turns its 'Lite' off

BANGALORE, INDIA: Seven months after Facebook embarked on a much hyped venture to launch a 'stripped down version' of the social network named Facebook Lite, the company has scrapped the project.
Announcing its back-off from the plan, Facebook on Tuesday said on its fans page, “Thanks to everyone who tried out Facebook Lite. We're no longer supporting it, but learned a lot from the test of a slimmed-down site. If you used Lite, you'll now be taken to the main Facebook.com site.”
Facebook had been too aggressive about the light version when it commenced the development of Lite as it sent out test URLs for users to check the new version and give their feedback. Since then much has been written about this venture. Some said Facebook is directly targeting Twitter as the new version is very light and aims to increase the social networking speed.
Some user blogs had said that Facebook Lite appeared to be a more Twitter-like. One user had noted, “It looks like a simplified version of Twitter with comments enabled. On second thought, it looks like simplified FriendFeed.” FriendFeed was acquired by Facebook for around $50 million around that time.
Meanwhile, according to Cnet, Facebook on the other side has been announcing some more complex new features in advance of its F8 developer conference - like Community Pages, which are user-edited discussion hubs that look to be in the same vein as Wikipedia.

Red Bull gave me an ASBO: Energy drink addiction makes me see the red mist, claims 'neighbour from hell' mother

Amy O'Donnell

Energy addiction: Amy O'Donnell claims her mood swings were due to her love of Red Bull

A mother labelled a 'neighbour from hell' after being given an Asbo has blamed her  vicious and aggressive behaviour on an addiction to energy drink Red Bull.

Jobless Amy O'Donnell, 24, was given an anti-social behaviour order after residents reported her for terrorising her neighbourhood in Hull, East Yorks.

Her five-year reign of mischief has featured singling out vulnerable members of  the public for sickening verbal abuse, and joining forces with other yobs in a callous attack on a woman with learning difficulties.

At least two residents have moved out after being targeted by O'Donnell - but  she denies the claims, saying her heavy use of the energy drink makes her seem high and aggressive, yet she is actually just 'hyperactive'.

O'Donnell, who has a six-year-old son, Kieran, spends up to £20 a day on  the drink, which is designed to give an energy boost at times of exertion.

She said: 'It's not just one can, not just two, but 10, maybe 15 cans a day - and people say 'Amy, you are off your head'.

'But I'm not, it's just this Red Bull. You could say I'm addicted. It makes me hyperactive.

'People report me for walking down the street, looking like I'm high, but I'm not high, just hyper.'

The main problems have occurred on the street her parents live in in the city.

If the single mother breaches the order, which prevents her from abusive behaviour and bans her from the area with the exception of her parents' house, she faces jail.

A terrified resident said: 'Amy really is aggressive by nature, I think. Her abuse to people isn't just now and again, it's every time you step out of your  house. People down here now go out in pairs because you don't feel safe on your own."

PC Alistair Kennedy, of the Northern Neighbourhood Policing team - which applied for the Asbo - said: 'She was a nightmare, she terrorised residents, she mostly picked on single parents and the vulnerable and made their life hell.

'There were six residents in the street who she absolutely terrorised. O'Donnell is a particularly nasty bit of work.'

Another resident added: 'The proper solution would have been be to ban her coming to the close altogether.

'She's still in the area and that is what worries people. But the police have been fantastic, they have done everything they said they would.'

A spokesperson for Red Bull said: "A 250ml can of Red Bull energy drink contains about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee, which is 80mg.

'The consumption of Red Bull energy drink should therefore correspond to a  person's regular intake of coffee.
