I will never try to change my image: Udita Goswami

Udita GoswamiFrom Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Katrina Kaif, Bollywood actresses may be trying to break free of their glamourous image with off-beat roles but that is not the case for model-turned-actress Udita Goswami.

With her initial set of movies like Paap, Zeher and Aksar, the 26-year-old actress has managed to create a sensuous image for herself which is rather difficult to shrug off even though more than five years have passed since her big screen debut but Udita is not complaining.

"I have never thought of an image change because that is easier said than done. I think because of the kind of face that I have, I don't look Indian. I don't quite carry similar looks as that of Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone or Rani Mukerjee," Udita told PTI.

Though majority of her films have tilted towards adult dramas, Udita said that she would love to do a romantic comedy. "I understand that people relate to you more when you get into a zone as that allows you to play a safe and sweet bubbly role," said Udita.
"At my end, even I am dying to do a romantic comedy. But then things don't quite happen just because you want them. Even if I want to do such a role, it has to come to me right? And when that doesn't happen, do I have any other choice but to do what I am already being liked for," she added.

She had a trait of a temptress in Fox and though there wasn't any element of seduction in Rokkk, the horror genre meant that the film again had its target audience as adults.
Now in her latest release Jag Mundhra's Chase which also stars Anuuj Saxena, she continues to stay on in the confines of an adult drama once again. "And I am fine with that because people like me looking good. They can identify with me if I have that slight negative shade to my character," she said.
"That's the way I am and though with films like Rokkk and Chase I am trying to bring in some difference, after one point you can't change yourself much. If I have my negatives then I also have my own pluses," Udita added.
